VILLA JASMINE: A DREAMY GREEK GETAWAY HOSTadmin+immko.grΜάρτιος 27, 2018 When interior designer Iosif Vasilodimitrakis got the opportunity to restore his wife’s family home, Villa Jasmine, in the village of Episkopi, Rethymno in Crete, Greece – he pulled out ALL the stops. From the gorgeous wall-to-wall tile and statement lighting to the natural furnishings and global decor – this home is everything you dreamed a Greek getaway to be. Let’s just say, Villa Jasmine is now on our travel bucket list. “Villa Jasmine guesthouse is located in Episkopi, Rethymnon. A traditional village, just 800 meters from Kavros Beach”, explains designer Iosif. “Originally a 19th-century stone building. It was recently renovated in order to accommodate guests who are looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.” “Only ten minutes from Villa Jasmine is Argyroupoli (Ancient Lappa). It is famous for its natural springs and rich archaeological sites. The town of Rethymnon is just 15 minutes from our guesthouse. You will find it charming at any time of the year that you visit.” “We preserved the traditional character of the building while incorporating all the modern comforts one would expect. It is meticulously equipped, with furniture combining oriental influences and creating a warm and romantic atmosphere which revitalizes and relaxes.” “The guesthouse consists of two floors and is able to accommodate up to six people. On the ground floor, one may find the kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. On the first floor there is a second bedroom with a private balcony, a bathroom ensuite and a terrace. Guests can enjoy the Cretan sunshine or a drink under the starry sky.” When you look up in the main floor bedroom, you can’t help but notice the beautiful detailing above the french doors, the lantern style lights and hanging tassels, and even the antique wooden drapery hardware. The outdoor seating area invites guests to relax and enjoy great company and good food while breathing in the Cretan air. Iosif carefully thought out every single detail in the house including this beautiful stencil effect along the stairwell. The private balcony that sits off of the second floor bedroom is the perfect spot to leisurely enjoy breakfast. “200 meters from the guesthouse one may find a local supermarket. A few meters away is the café of the village. Among other things, traditional spoon sweets are also sold. Walking along the scenic alleys of the village with the backdrop of the Cretan Sea and the Cretan mountains will make you relax. The rich history of the village will make you want to explore every corner.” If you are lucky enough to be planning a getaway to Greece, make sure to check out Villa Jasmine for beautiful accommodations.
